Bahrain Airshow: Sell out for the public and trade looks busy too
His Majesty, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa opened the first Bahrain International Air Show today, with smiles all round and a clear signal that the show has captured the attention of the industry and the Bahraini people.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday's public event have now been fully sold out and organisers of the inaugural show, Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) say that all of the invited places for VIPs and official delegations have been taken up.
BIAS is the world’s first purpose built airshow facility and the CAA turned to to UK event organiser Farborough International to partner them in the the planning and operation of the event.
"BIAS is a tailor made airshow specifically taking into account the requests and needs of industry. The show was built on demand," said Amanda Stainer, Exhibitions and Events Director, FIL
Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, BIAS, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: “The Bahrain International Airshow is a unique event for the global aerospace industry. Bahrain has a long history as a regional pioneer in aviation and, by working in partnership with Farnborough International Ltd, we have now produced an entirely new air show concept that addresses the specific needs of an industry growing faster in this region than anywhere else in the world. There are 40 exhibitors, over 70 aircraft and visiting delegations from 45 countries. It is a welcome boost to both the Kingdom’s economy and its profile as a leading business hub for the region.”
