Bahrain Air Show hits the half way mark as it promotes the event in India
Airshow organisers Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) is in attendance at Aero India in Bangalore this week to promote the Bahrain International Airshow 2012 (BIAS). 50% of chalets have already been sold for the event which will take place from 19-21 January 2012, following on from the success of the launch show in 2010.
The inaugural Bahrain International Airshow in January 2010 was an unprecedented success with over US$1bn in orders confirmed and some major deals and initiatives announced by participating companies at press conferences during the show. More than 30,000 people visited the show over three days, including delegations from 25 countries.
The Supreme Organising committee for BIAS 2012 - which is chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa and made up of senior members of Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) and FIL - announced that it has signed commitments for 50% of the total chalet space available at the 2012 event, which will continue on the successful model of a maximum number of 40 companies taking part, each hosting VIP guests in luxurious, tailor-made five star chalets.
Companies confirmed to participate in 2012’s event thus far include: Air BP, Bahrain Air, Bahrain Airport Company, Bahrain Airport Services, BAPCO, Bexair, Blenheim Capital Services, Cessna Aircraft Company, Dassault, Bahrain Economic Development Board, Gulf Air, Gulf Aviation Academy, Gulf Technics, Lockheed Martin, MENA Aerospace, Nexus, Qatar Airways and TAG Aeronautics.
FIL Exhibitions & Events Director, Amanda Stainer, said: “As a result of the success of the first event in Bahrain last year, we are delighted to have received an excellent number of early sign up’s for BIAS 2012.
