At Northrop Grumman’s Scaled Composites facility in Mojave, California, components of JetZero’s blended wing body (BWB) demonstrator Jet1 are in build, fuselage assembly has begun and fabrication of wing skins is commencing. A large-scale oven for curing the low-temperature composites will be built around the demonstrator’s wing to accommodate its size. Overall design milestones for the demonstrator are on track and on budget, JetZero says, as it works toward first flight in late 2027. The company released new photos following a recent facility tour. Read Senior Editor Christine Boynton's report on the tour: JetZero Describes BWB Progress And Shares Its New Outlook
