An Erickson Aero Tanker MD-87 dropped fire retardant along Mandeville Canyon Road in Los Angeles during the Palisades Fire in January. Marty Wolin says that photographing in the canyon, with only one road in and out, was difficult because of how narrow the road was with houses, trees and mountains on both sides. Using a Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens allowed Wolin to get part of one house in the frame as the retardant fell.
