A multiple-exposure sequence shows the lunar eclipse of Nov. 8, 2022, as the Moon dips toward the horizon behind NASA’s Space Launch System rocket on Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Pad 39B. This was taken with a static camera with a wide-angle lens—one photo every 5 min. until the Moon set—with one stacked on top of the other for a classic eclipse sequence. This Kenn Borek Basler BT-67, based on a highly modified Douglas DC-3, operating on behalf of the Chinese Arctic and Antarctic Administration, is parked at the Rothera Research Station, Antarctica, with the New Bransfield House in the background. Baslers and Twin Otters transit through the Rothera Research Station each season on their way to a variety of other destinations including the South Pole and McMurdo Station.

The photographer’s grandson, Bryce, stands in front of the Skunk Works-designed Darkstar aircraft from the movie “Top Gun: Maverick” a few days before it went on public display at the Edwards AFB Aerospace Valley Air Show and STEM Exhibition. Images from this shoot were to be used to promote the STEM portion of the air show. WonderWorks provided the spacesuit.

This Vought F4U Corsair was photographed at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture 2023. After some cleanup, the image was converted to black and white. Various effects were used to create the final photo.
