ACA Says Unit Costs Helped By Longer Stage Length, Higher Utilization

Unit costs at Atlantic Coast Airlines, which declined 22.3% to 16 cents in the third quarter, compared with the same quarter in 1997, were helped along by a year-over-year 14.5% increase in average aircraft stage length to 271 miles and a 7% improvement in average aircraft utilization to 9.2 hours...
