Textron Aviation’s two joint ventures in Shijiazhuang and Zhuhai will both be busier this year following orders from Greater China for three Citation XLS+ aircraft for the China Civil Aviation Authority’s Flight Inspection Center, and a Cessna Grand Caravan EX in VIP configuration for Xihua General Aviation.

The Citation XLS+ aircraft will be routed through the Cessna-AVIC Aircraft (Zhuhai) Co. joint venture in Zhuhai that to date has delivered three earlier XLS+ aircraft into China. The order ends a year-long famine in which no new Cessna business jets were delivered to Chinese customers, although a single pre-owned CJ1-type was imported last year.

Cessna’s Chinese business jet fleet totals 36 aircraft, the most popular being the CJ1 family (13) and the XLS family (12), soon to become 15 with the latest order, according to data from Hong Kong consultants Asian Sky Group.

The Cessna Caravan will be assembled and delivered from the Cessna-AVIC Aircraft (Shijiazhuang) Co joint venture. The Caravan has been a major success story for Textron Aviation, with about 100 now flying in Greater China.
