China’s largest business jet operator DeerJet has identified Chengdu as ripe for expansion.

Deer Jet and government of Chengu’s Shuangliu Diastrict government earlier this year signed a strategic partnership to help develop business aviation at the International Airport there. Chengdu is China’s fifth busiest hub in terms of commercial aviation.

Deer Jet is seeking approval to establish an FBO and maintenance facility, a spokeman said, and will also bring charter services and airplane management to the location.

The airport already has some facilities to support business jets, but Deer Jet wants to build a new world-class facility.

Chengdu, he said, has good potential because the number of business jets operating there is increasing fast, which he attributes to 265 of the Fortune Global 500 companies having operations there.

Deer Jet has the largest FBO network in China, with facilities at Shenzhen, Sanya, Haikou, Changsha, Xian, Nanning, Guilin, Hangzhou, Tangshan and Beijing.
