The Malaysian Aviation Commission has suspended MYAirline’s air services license (ASL), after the carrier failed to satisfy the conditions set by the regulator.

Some of the newcomers are growing quickly, while expansion is slower for others.

Fortunes have differed widely for the handful of startup airlines that launched operations in the Asia-Pacific region in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The sudden suspension of MYAirline’s operation … without prior notification to [the regulator] raises serious concerns,” the Malaysian authorities say.

MYAirline says that its flights have been canceled until further notice, with the Malaysian carrier referring to “significant financial pressure.”
