Croatia has become the fifth export operator of Dassault’s Rafale fighter following delivery of the first aircraft into the country’s capital of Zagreb.
The congressional notification released on Jan. 26 by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency clears Croatia to move forward with the $500 million purchase.
The two-seat Rafale B was formally transferred on Oct. 2 during a ceremony at the Mont-de-Marsan air base, where Croatian pilots are being trained on the type.
