The Hangar
The 188,000-sq.-ft. facility began operations in November 2012. It offers a variety of aircraft services including heavy maintenance and modifications. AAR invested more than $8 million in this business, including $4 million investment in specialty facilities, equipment and tooling.

Workforce
In its three years at Duluth, AAR has contributed $47 million annually to the regional economy. The facility employees 300 full-time employees, with 30% of its workforce being veterans. AAR also employs 130 contractors and is actively hiring for 100 open positions. It developed a Support Technician Training Program to assist low-income and displaced-worker candidates.

Training Programs
AAR is involved in community education, including working closely with Lake Superior College's Aviation Maintenance Training program. The company offers courses with the University of Minnesota on a supervisor training course taught in-house at the AAR facility. Indianhead Technical College worked with AAR to develop an intern program and to redesign their composite training program.
