How Are Aircraft Parts Platforms Becoming More User-Friendly?
May 17, 2021
1. Aero-Engines Social Marketplace
Company: Aeroji
Product: German startup Aeroji will soon launch its “social marketplace” platform for aero-engine leasing and sales, following its beta-test period. The cloud-based platform combines aspects of social-networking apps with functionality for trading and leasing, enabling users to set up profiles for themselves and engine assets.
2. Extensive Parts Portfolio
Company: ILS
Product: The ILS Marketplace platform offers aircraft repair services and more than a billion parts for customers to find, buy, sell and analyze. The platform recently received several updates and additions, including a bridge to integrate it with CAMP Systems’ Corridor aviation maintenance software as well as enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine-learning capabilities within its Fair Market Value tool.
3. AI-Powered Results
Company: Locatory.com
Product: Initially launched as an aircraft spare-parts trading marketplace by Avia Solutions Group, Locatory.com now features more than 12 billion aircraft parts for commercial and military aviation. Its platform uses an AI-based engine called Amber to speed up the process of finding spare parts and MRO services by automatically identifying and parsing part numbers, quantities and conditions from users’ sent emails and monitoring Locatory’s database to instantly report on parts availability.
4. Third-Party Integration
Company: AeroParts Now
Product: Founded in 2018, AeroParts Now provides what it calls an all-in-one aircraft part sales, management and procurement platform that lets sellers and buyers manage inventory, promote listings, respond to requests, send quotes and sell parts.
5. Data Insight Efficiency
Company: ePlane
Product: Online aerospace marketplace ePlane recently launched its ePlane Pro plan, which features enhanced capabilities and data insights. These include advanced market intelligence capabilities, such as real-time reports and analytics based on the user’s activity, supply chain management tools and a global trading system that has features to provide the most up-to-date information.
6. Upgrading MRO Supply Chain Processes
Company: Aeroxchange
Product: Founded in 2000 by 13 major global airlines, Aeroxchange’s platform supports automation and workflow for what it says is the entire range of MRO supply chain processes. It is working on several platform developments that are scheduled to be released soon, including new features to improve asset tracking and pooling-agreement management, more system-integration options and an expanded electronic catalog on its AeroBuy procurement system for MRO technical parts.
7. Increasing Parts Transparency
Product: With more than 25,000 users and more than 51,000 part searches per day, PartsBase says its platform has the largest global reach in the world. In the last year, PartsBase has added a variety of new features, including upgraded search and filtering functionality for more targeted results and expanded part-level data for increased transparency. The system now displays 18 unique data points for each part listed, which PartsBase says reduces inefficient back-and-forth interactions between buyers and sellers.
Aircraft part sales and trading platforms are adding new features to increase efficiency and functionality for buyers and sellers.
