Narrowbody jets are projected to account for 53% of the MRO market in the Americas over the next decade. More than 37,000 MRO events are expected  in 2023-32, representing a compound annual growth rate of 3.9%.

The active narrowbody aircraft fleet in the Americas is forecast to grow to more than 30,500 in 2032 from about 19,300 active aircraft in 2023. This bigger fleet and the anticipated commensurate utilization are projected to drive MRO spending to increase 41% over the 10-year period, according to Aviation Week’s Commercial Aviation Fleet & MRO Forecast.

While narrowbody aircraft likely will generate the majority of maintenance needs in the Americas, Aviation Week forecasts that widebody aircraft will account for 30.9% of the MRO market and regional jets 12.6%.
