AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail joined Aviation Week’s MRO Asia-Pacific conference agenda as the keynote speaker on Sept. 16.
He will start speaking at 11:45 am at the Singapore event, which will celebrate it 25th anniversary.
Ismail joined AirAsia Malaysia in 2010 and held various leadership roles, including group head of corporate development. He has led strategic opportunities to complement AirAsia’s airline and nonairline businesses through investments, mergers and acquisitions and has been instrumental in its financial growth.

AirAsia is in the process of expanding its fleet. In July, it ordered an additional 50 Airbus A321XLRs, with an option for 20 more, to expand its long-haul operations. The airline expects the first of those aircraft to enter service in 2027 or 2028.
The MRO Asia-Pacific conference and exhibition takes place Sept. 16-18.
