France has begun the first phase of developing an unmanned aircraft systems traffic management (UTM) architecture called “Hubspace” that it plans to deploy by 2023 to manage drone traffic nationwide. Following an innovation challenge it conducted in November in Toulouse, air navigation service provider DSNA has selected eight industry partners to provide preoperational services as part of its UTM—known as U-Space in Europe—implementation program.
