Indian LCC IndiGo plans to use its massive Airbus orderbook to focus in the medium term on fleet modernization rather than growth, CEO Ronojoy Dutta said during a televised interview.

The carrier will be looking to phase out about 120 older aircraft during the next two years, Dutta told local business news channel CNBC-TV18. The carrier is also due to receive about the same number of new deliveries during this period. However, the delivery time line is under discussion, and the replacement process “may not be one-for-one,” Dutta said.
