YES To Prague, Making The Right Move, And Knowing We’ve Got You
Prague Airport is the operator of Václav Havel Airport Prague, one of the most modern and safest airports in the region as repeatedly confirmed in passenger satisfaction surveys. ACI Europe’s Airport Traffic Reports show that we currently rank among the top 3 fastest growing airports in the category of mega and large airports in Europe, and we still continue to grow.
During the last twelve months, launches of 58 new routes were announced, 14 carriers joined the Prague Airport partner pool, 42 services recorded frequency and/or capacity increases, generating 3.6 million additional seats, and cargo transport grew by more than 40% year-on-year as a result of our route development and marketing activities.
Our new routes include the latest announced Abu Dhabi (Etihad Airways) as one of the two S25 European additions of the airline and Toronto (Air Canada) as a resumed connection serviced pre-pandemic by Air Canada Rouge, also effective S25 season; Beijing (Hainan Airlines) as the first post-Covid-19 pandemic resumed route from China to Prague; Ulaanbaatar (Eznis Airways) as historically the first direct connection of the capital of Mongolia with Prague and third with Europe; Cairo (EgyptAir) as a service relaunched after a 13-year break; Astana (SCAT Airlines) as currently the only route operated by the carrier to the EU countries; Tashkent (Qanot Sharq Airlines) as a destination last connected with Prague by direct flights 10 years ago; alongside Puerto Vallarta (World2Fly), Holguín (World2Fly), and Bahrain (Smartwings) as new exotic retreats serviced from Prague by direct charter flights.
Saying “Yes to Cargo”, Prague Airport has recently initiated the establishment of the Prague Airport Cargo Point platform, which aims to increase its competitiveness in the cargo sector and develop air cargo transport in the airport’s catchment area.
Our marketing strategy, backed by six incentive programs, out of which two are volume-based and four route-based, and airline marketing support have been designed and continuously updated to promote, facilitate, and maintain sustained passenger growth. We reward, assist, and help every partner airline in a number of ways.
The allocated airline marketing and tourism support has helped fund a number of co-branded activities and events with our partner air carriers, for example, inaugural flights, anniversaries of established routes, workshops to promote target markets, business breakfasts facilitating networking and airline product presentations, tailored LinkedIn campaigns, and more.
Alongside Prague Airport’s local campaign of Experiences Await to support outgoing tourism, we work closely with the key tourism industry stakeholders, CzechTourism and Prague City Tourism, on increasing incoming tourism via the TouchPoint platform, press and fam trips, destination websites, and newsletters, to list a few.
We run contests for air carriers to motivate them to pursue further growth and promote viable business models, rewarding their achievements in five categories: the Best Performing Airline, the Fastest Growing Airline, the Best Airline Marketing Campaign with Prague Airport, the Fastest Growing Cargo Carrier, and the TOP Sustainable Airline in line with our ESG strategy and commitments.
This year, we launched an Airline Meet & Experience Program designed as a horizon-broadening trip for our partner carriers. The goal is to let them meet representatives of airlines active at Prague Airport and our Aviation Business Development Team, experience the beauty of the destination, and network with local tourism authorities.
These steps aim further to develop passenger and cargo flights, especially in long-haul markets where we primarily focus on increasing connectivity with the United States, China, and South Korea as well as maximizing the potential of the largest unserved markets, such as India, Vietnam, and Thailand.
When we say We’ve Got You, we mean it.
