World Routes Awards 2013 – Shortlisted Airports Announced!

Voting has now closed for the World Routes Awards 2013and the shortlisted airports and destinations were announced earlier this week.

Created in 1997 to recognise excellence in airport marketing as rewarded by airlines, the annual Routes awards provide the airline community with the chance to have their say as to which airport they think provides the best overall marketing services to them. Today these awards are the most highly regarded in the industry and are voted for and judged by airlines.

Shortlisted airports have now been contacted and asked for a submission to support their nomination. This submission process is designed to enable the shortlisted airports to provide information for the judging panel as to why they think they should win the award, providing evidence to support their case.

This year there will be five awards categories comprising of four airport categories, split by size, and a destination category for the best destination marketing campaign by a tourism authority. Automatically shortlisted in the relevant category will be the overall winners of each of the regional heats which took place earlier this year; San Diego International Airport, Changi Airport Group, Munich Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport and Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport.
