With the addition of the new route, Wizz Air’s route network in Romania will now grow to a total of 88 routes to 15 different countries.
Marius Ioan Gîrdea, General Manager of Sibiu International Airport said: "We can only see this new progressive step of our cooperation with Wizz Air as the reassurance of our foreseen prospects for passenger volume increase and route expansion at Sibiu International Airport in the near future.”
Mr Gîrdea said the new destination comes to meet the expectations and needs expressed by the community they serve.
He said the new destination is “[...] combined efforts of Sibiu County Council and the airport management team towards developing the range of connections that our passengers can access."
Wizz Air is the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, operates a fleet of 52 Airbus A320 aircraft and offers over 300 routes from 18 bases, connecting 96 destinations across 35 countries.
