Will Timor Air finally take to the skies?

Timor Air is making another attempt to start service - and plans to fly connections to East Timor's capital, Dili and Darwin by the middle of this year using a dash 8 leased from Vincent Aviation.

Its history dates back to 2002- when it planned to start-up using a Beechcraft 1900 from the leasing company, which has bases in Wellington, New Zealand and Darwin, Australia.

The planned schedule is summarised below, as published on their website:

Monday to Sunday
Darwin to Depart 08:45
Dili Arrive 09:35
Dili to Depart 15:50
Darwin Arrive 17:40

It is reported that Timor Air would like to acquire two boeing 737-300s in order to serve Singapore and Denpasar, Bali from Dili.
