Spanair to serve seasonal European markets

Barcelona based Spanair has announced that it will operate summer only services from its BCN base to Malta and the coastal Croatian market of Dubrovnik.

From July 1st to September 30th it will operate both markets on a twice weekly basis with MD83 aircraft.

Spanair has targeted Vueling at its BCN base which itself operates a 2x weekly service with A320 equipment, and Vueling also operates a 3x weekly service to Dubrovnik. Spanair is increasing its presence in Barcelona and aims to position itself as a competitor to the low cost operates at El Prat.
