Monarch reports strong demand in January
Monarch reports strong demand for scheduled flights in January - with average load factors of 77% across the network - a 1% year-on-year increase.
The Canary Islands of Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife were the carrier's most popular routes. It reports a 26% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers to these winter sun islands for the January period.
Monarch's managing director, Tim Jeans said: "While there was a deliberate overall reduction in capacity offered during January, we are pleased to have achieved these figures."
From Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports, Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, Cyprus and Turkey.
