Middle East carrier to operate Sri Lankan route

Middle East based carrier Oman Air has finally secured regulatory approval to operate non stop scheduled services from Muscat, Oman to the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo. The carrier had previosuly discontinued the route in 2004 during the height of the civil war, however expects to return from November 14th operating the route on a 4x weekly basis using A330 aircraft. Sri Lankan currently operates the route on a 2x weekly basis with a mix of A330-200 and A340-300 aircraft.
