LCC adds new French bases

Low cost operator, Transavia, a joint venture between KLM and Air France had added an 8th B737-800 and will operate new routes from both Lyon and Nantes.

From Lyon, Transavia France which will keep the aircraft based at Paris Orly will operate three new summer markets from Lyon, namely Djerba, Monastir and Toseur. From Nantes, Transavia will operate new services to Djerba, Heraklion in Greece and Marrakech.

Transavia does not currently operate from Lyon, where the largest low cost operator is easyJet. From Nantes, Ryanair operates 52 weekly frequencies and is by far the largest low cost operator, Transavia does not currently operate from Nantes.
