India's Jet launches no frills service Jet Airways Konnect
Indian full-service carrier Jet Airways has introduced Jet Airways Konnect, an all economy-class no-frills service.
"Jet Konnect will have dedicated aircraft for this service and the flight number will be unique, Jet says in a statement.
Guests will continue to accrue points and the service will be delivered by the same Jet staff but passengers will have to pay for meals on board, it says.
"Jet Airways Konnect offers a no-frills, economy-class service where guests will be offered attractive and competitive low fares."
This new service is "designed to meet the needs of the low-fare segment," IT adds.
The service starts today and will initially be on two Boeing 737s and six ATRs. The sectors are: Chennai-Coimbatore, Chennai-Madurai, Chennai-Kochi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Mumbai-Bhopal, Mumbai-Udaipur, Bengaluru-Pune and Bengaluru-Mangalore.
Jet also has JetLite a low-fare carrier that was previously named Air Sahara.
