Icelandair to open new Norwegian link

he carrier says it will begin flying the route, via Bergen, twice-weekly from early June 2010.

Trondheim will become the fourth Norwegian destination for the airline.

"Many Icelanders are living in the area," says chief executive Birkir Holm Gudnason. "We believe that we can build a profitable flight service and get passengers on all three of our markets - North America, Iceland and Norway."

Icelandair will also operate nine times per week to Oslo next year, four-times weekly to Bergen, and twice-weekly to Stavanger.
