German carrier adds new markets.
Air Berlin has announced a significant number of new routes that will be added to its Winter schedule for 2009/10.
Air Berlin is adding 10 new destinations, 54 non-stop flights and further connecting flights to its route network. In addition to expanding its service the airline will soon have its jets taking off from Memmingen airport which recently also announced new Ryanair services.
Air Berlin is positioning itself as the largest German carrier in Italy and strengthening its presence in Austria. The carrier is operating a service from Stuttgart to a total of seven Italian destinations, including Venice, Naples and Palermo. Four further destinations in Italy are being added to the schedule: Cagliari and Palermo, Naples and Bari. Air Berlin is also offering a new service from Cologne/Bonn to Morocco and Tunisia.
