Emirates boosts capacity in Italy and Malaysia

Emirates has added a third daily service on its Dubai-Lumpur routing and at the same time, has put on more flights to the italian capital.

From Dubai, Emirates now brings the total number of flights to Kuala Lumpur to 21 each week. While to Italy, there are now double-daily flights to Rome (instead of 12-times weekly) and these will supplement the carrier's existing double-daily to Milan and daily to Venice.

Commenting on the route developments, Salem Obaidalla, Emirates' Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Europe & the Russian Federation, said: "Rome is a powerful tourism magnet, but is also an important business centre, so we're confident the extra flight will be a success."

Richard Jewsbury, Emirates’ senior vice president, commercial operations, Far East and Australasia, added: "The triple-daily flights to Kuala Lumpur will benefit our customers, stakeholders and our business, while boosting Malaysian tourism, underscoring the country’s role in Emirates’ Far East network."

The carrier's first service from Dubai to Malaysia in 1996 flew indirectly (via Dhaka).
