Dragonair Reveals Second Phase of Summer 2012 Expansion

Hong Kong-based Dragonair has revealed its latest plan for service expansion in Summer 2012 season.

The oneWorld Alliance member from 01MAY12 is starting 3 weekly Hong Kong - Jeju service, followed by Hong Kong - Taichung twice daily service from 14MAY12, and Hong Kong - Chiang Mai 4 weekly flights from 01JUL12. According to OAG Schedules iNet data, Dragonair last operated Taichung service once a day from 28OCT07 to 31MAY09. Jeju and Chiang Mai are brand new destinations, although these two were previously served by other carriers out of Hong Kong.

Earlier in the month (March 2012), the airline announced that it'll increase Hong Kong - Qingdao (from Daily to 10 weekly from 01MAY12) service, while resuming Hong Kong - Xi'An from 01APR12 with 4 weekly flights (Daily from 30APR12) and daily Hong Kong - Guilin from 30APR12. On Hong Kong - Xiamen and Hong Kong - Kunming service, the airline will boost capacity by deploying Airbus A330-300 aircraft on some flights.
