CO to access Kazakh market

Star Alliance newest recruit, Continental Airlines, has commenced its codeshare agreement with UK carrier BMI, with its first access to Almaty in Kazakhstan. BMI currently serves Almaty on a 4x weekly rotation with B757 equipment. Continental will feed passengers wishing to access Almaty from the US through its several daily LHR services. Currently Continental serves Heathrow on a 3x daily basis from New York (EWR) and on a twice daily basis from Houston (IAH). There is currently no scheduled carrier operating between Kazakhstan and the US, however growing number of passengers are travelling between the countries and the codeshare agreeement is thought to the first step in meeting this growing demand.
