Carrier adds Japan link
The flag carrier of Taiwan, China Airlines has announced plans to launch a new scheduled non stop service from its main base of Taipei to Miyazaki.
The proposed new service will be launched from January 21st 2010 and be operated on a 2x weekly rotation with B737-800 aircraft. China Airlines has filled the gap which was created by the discontinuation of the route by Eva Air.
China Airlines is the largest carrier operating out of Taipei with over 790 weekly departures giving it a market share of close to 34%, Eva Air is the next largest carrier in terms of departures with over 500 weekly departures giving the carrier a market share of 22%.
