Brussels Airlines officially enters Star Alliance
Brussels Airlines, yesterday officially joined Star Alliance. The national carrier of Belguim will bring a network of over 69 destinations and 206 daily depatures from the Brussels hub. Brussels Airlines has a fleet of 51 aircraft which are made up of

Brussels will bring to Star Alliance several destinations in Africa and will focus Brussels on growing its network in the African continent, which will SN to continue its focus on Africa, whilst other Star carries can focus on smaller European points. Currently Brussels serves the following markets in Africa
- Abidjan (Ivory Coast) - 4x weekly
- Bujumbura (Burundi) - 4x weekly
- Dakar (Senegal) - 14x weekly
- Douala (Cameroon) - 8x weekly
- Entebbe (Uganda) - 3x weekly
- Kinsasha (Congo) - 1x weekly
- Kigali (Rwanda) - 4x weekly
- Luanda (Angola) - 3x weekly
- Yaounde (Cameroon)- 4x weekly
- Monrovia (Liberia) - 6x weekly
Brussels Airlines has also been reviewing the possibility of establishing its own carrier in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It has aborted its JV with Hewa Bora however and the project appears to be back to the drawing board.
