Beijing and Sydney become "Sister Airports"

Beijing international and Sydney Kingsford Smith airport have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together as 'sister airports'.

The airports will increase their collaboration in the areas of staff training and exchange, project co-ordination and knowledge sharing.

The agreement was signed by the President and CEO of Beijing Capital airport, Mr Zhang Guanghui, and the CEO of Sydney Airport, Russell Balding. The event underlined how the two airports are major drivers of economic development for their respective cities and are major generators of economic activity, investment and employment.

Dr Dong Zhiyi, Beijing Capital's chairman, said that both Sydney and Beijing airport are the national gateways to their respective countries.
