Batavia launches Saudi Arabian routes

Indonesian carrier Batavia Air has launched new routes to Saudi Arabia. From May 23rd the carrier has commenced scheduled operations to Jeddah and Riyadh both to be operated with A330-200 aircraft. The new flights will originate in Jakarta and the services to Riyadh will be an extension to the Jeddah flight.

On Jeddah, Batavia will face competition on from the following carriers;

  • Garuda- 11x weekly, B747-400
  • Lion Airlines 7x weekly B747-400
  • Saudi Arabian Airlines 2x weekly B747

on the Riyadh sector both Garuda and Saudi Arabian Airlines offer a 3x weekly schedule.
