Alaska Airlines Expands in Hawaii
Alaska Airlines will expand its existing service to Hawaii with a new service from San Jose to Lihue on the island of Kauai.
A thrice-weekly service will kick off on March 27, 2011 with a 737-800. There will be no non-stop competition on this route.
The following day, Alaska Airlines will begin flying a four weekly service to Lihue from Oakland International.
Hawaii is an important focus for Alaksa. Last November, the carrier introduced two new non-stop routes from Oakland: a four-times weekly service to Kahului and a three-times weekly to Kona.
