Air Mauritius Reveals Revised Operation for 2012/13

Based on latest GDS schedule and inventory/availability update, Air Mauritius (MK) has revised its planned operation to Asia and South Africa during 2012.

Asia

Bangalore Planned service cancellation starting 28OCT12, is reversed. The airline will maintain 1 weekly Mauritius - Bangalore - Chennai - Mauritius operational pattern.

Kuala Lumpur MK will maintain 3rd weekly frequency to Kuala Lumpur from 25MAR12, as a result of the decision to maintain Mauritius - Kuala Lumpur - Shanghai Pu Dong link. From 28OCT12, the airline will operate 3 weekly Mauritius - Kuala Lumpur vv.

Shanghai Pu Dong Planned nonstop service from 25MAR12 is cancelled. The airline will continue existing weekly operation via Kuala Lumpur. From 28OCT12, intermediate stop will switch to Singapore (see below) with no local traffic rights on intra-asia sector.

Singapore From 28OCT12, MK is reducing overall service from 2 to 1 weekly. However, operational route will change from Mauritius - Kuala Lumpur - Singapore - Mauritius to Mauritius - Singapore - Shanghai Pu Dong.

South Africa

The airline is reinforcing its South Africa operation starting 28OCT12, which sees Cape Town receiving 3rd weekly frequency, while Johannesburg will double from 6 weekly to 14 weekly. Existing twice weekly Durban service will be terminated, which was reported in February 2012.
