Air France- KLM passenger and cargo loads rise in August

Air France-KLM's August passenger load factor increased by 1.1 points to 84.8% as the company managed to keep capacity cuts of 4.2% ahead of the 2.9% traffic fall.

The SkyTeam partner, which transported 6.6 million passengers over the month, says: "The reduction in capacity put a stop to the deterioration in unit revenues."

Its load factor gained 1.8 points on the Americas network, 2.3 points on Asia routes, and 1.1 points on European services.

Air France-KLM's cargo load factor also increased slightly to 63.5% although overall freight traffic remains more than 16% below last year's figure.
