Aerosvit to resume long haul links
Aerosvit will resume a scheduled non-stop service from Kiev to Delhi and Toronto respectively. The routes will start on April 19, and both will be operated on a twice weekly rotation using B767-300s.
There are currently no scheduled services between any of these markets. Last year Aerosvit reported carrying 4,000 passengers between the city pairs, but since discontinued the direct service, meaning the majority of passengers had to travel via Moscow (SVO) using Skyteam affiliated Aeroflot.
The Toronto market is larger with close to 20,000 passengers having flown the route, Aeroflot carrying 10,000 of these with significant leakage via Frankfurt with Lufthansa.
