Aer Lingus to reduce long haul fleet.
Lingus has announced that an agreement with Airbus to stabilise its long-haul fleet at 8 aircraft until 2013 (current 9) and significantly reduce its capital commitments in the next three years. Aer Lingus will take one new A330-300 in April 2010. Delivery schedule of the following three A330s, and the first two A350s delayed. Lingus has negotiated future flexibility on deliveries and revised the pre-delivery payment schedule for A330s and A350s. Lingus has also reached agreement to reduce fleet through the early termination of two existing A330 leases: one out in October 2009 (18 months ahead of schedule) and one in March 2010 (14 months ahead of schedule).
