Gecas To Buy Helicopter Lease Firm Milestone

GE Capital Aviation Services (Gecas) has announced it plans to acquire helicopter-leasing specialist Milestone Aviation Group in a takeover valued at $1.775 billion. The deal, announced on Oct. 13, is likely to shake up the fledgling helicopter-leasing business that was essentially re-booted in 2010 by the formation of Milestone, led by former NetJets CEO Richard Santulli. The takeover is subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals, but both parties hope to close in 2015.
