Experiments prepared for expanded hypersonic test from Norwegian site
German researchers hope the upcoming flight test of an ambitious hypersonic demonstrator will pave the way for follow-on flights of a small sub-orbital reentry vehicle in 2020. With a target top velocity of almost Mach 11, the test of the Sharp Edged Flight Experiment (Shefex 2) demonstrator greatly expands on the technologies validated by the Mach 6 Shefex 1 in 2005.
