Brazil’s civil aviation authority, ANAC, has approved TAM’s proposed merger with Chile’s LAN, although full details of the regulator’s backing are still pending. The approval, while welcomed by the airlines, is only part of the regulatory process, and more important decisions are still pending from anti-competition authorities in Brazil and Chile.
