Mergers and acquisitions are showing signs of heating up on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Several significant pending transactions were announced in January. They included Meggitt plc’s proposed $685 million acquisition of Pacific Scientific Aerospace, and Alcoa Inc.’s proposed $240 million deal for TransDigm Group Inc.’s fastener business.
