Ukrainian Helicopters Aviation Co. has signed a contract with Becker Avionics for the retrofit of 28 Mi-8 MTV-1 medium-lift helicopters with the Becker Digital Voice Communication System, the DVCS-6100 Digital Audio System. Becker Avionics has delivered the first DVCS system to Ukrainian Helicopters. The DVCS provides access to eight communication channels, eight navigation channels and remote capability for up to six pilots and up to 12 passengers.

Jinggong Global Jet Introduces Falcon 2000EX Under Operating Certificate

Jinggong Global Jet has introduced a VIP 11-seat Falcon 2000EX under its aircraft operating certificate. The company added the aircraft as Chinese VIPs become more knowledgeable and shift from leisure to predominantly business use of private aircraft, the company said. Additional demand has also come from international visitors looking for the same levels of safety and service as in their home countries, it said. The jet will be one of a few aircraft licensed for charter operation under the “B” registration. It will be placed in Hangzhou.

Global Aviation Technologies in Wichita has received FAA approval to add the King Air B300 Series aircraft to its repair station certificate for aircraft maintenance, the company said. Global Aviation provides maintenance support for Hawker 4000, Learjet and Challenger aircraft. Since its inception, the maintenance division has maintained a 100% on-time delivery rating with zero squawks on all customer deliveries, it said.

TAG Aviation Spain OK’d To Fly RNP1 Flight Paths

TAG Aviation Spain has become the first Spanish operator to receive approval to fly the Required Navigation Performance (RNP1) flight paths. The regulatory approval was awarded to TAG Aviation by the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency. It is a requirement for certain flight path designations out of the country. As part of the application process, the flight center had to ensure all private aircraft in use are compliant with RNP operations and that appropriate procedures, documentation and training are in place.

True Blue Power in Wichita is supplying new TB44 45 amp lithium ion batteries to Textron AirLand for use on the Scorpion Jet, a tactical aircraft designed for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and other missions. The battery uses proprietary Nanophosphate lithium-ion cell chemistry and delivers twice as much energy per kilogram compared to lead acid or NiCad alternatives, it said.

Safran Helicopter Engines, Hindustan Aeronautics To Establish India Rotocraft Support Center

Safran Helicopter Engines and Hindustan Aeronautics have agreed to establish a support center in India for national and international rotorcraft customers, The venture will open in the coming months, it said. The center will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Safran TM333 and HAL Shakti engines installed on HAL-built helicopters with plans to enlarge the business to include other engines. The joint venture is part of a “Made-in-India” initiative.

This AD was prompted by reports of inadvertent stowage of the thrust reversers, which can result in high forward engine thrust even though the throttle is commanding reverse thrust.

This AD was prompted by a report of improperly drilled bores, located on upper and lower stiffener joints to the Web at a certain frame. This AD requires a one-time inspection of the bores and repair if necessary. The FAA is issuing this AD to detect and correct an unsatisfactory bore that can adversely affect the structural integrity of the airplane.

Model CL-600-2B16 (CL-604 Variant) airplanes. This AD was prompted by a determination that certain maintenance tasks for the horizontal stabilizer trim actuator (HSTA) are inadequate. This AD requires revising the maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new airworthiness limitations for the HSTA.
