TAP Portugal Pilots Strike Grounds Less Than 30% Of Flights

Embraer Posts $61.7 Million Net Loss In 1Q

Embraer reported a $61.7 million first-quarter net loss, a reversal from the $110.6 million net profit in the year-ago quarter. The Brazilian manufacturer attributed the loss mostly to income tax expenses of $118 million. First-quarter revenue was down 14.5% to $1.06 billion, compared to $1.24 billion in the year-ago quarter. Embraer delivered 20 commercial jets and booked new firm orders for 22 commercial jets in the first quarter. At the end of the quarter, it had a $20.4 billion backlog, compared to a $19.2 billion backlog a year ago.
