Career Summary:


Lou is a Commercial Pilot/Certified Flight Instructor, aviation writer and business/ program development/ marketing communications professional with extensive domestic and international experience in the Aerospace industry. He has over 30 years of experience in business development in heavy aircraft  modification and maintenance- mostly VIP/Head of State aircraft special mission interior (including cargo and VVIP) conversions,  (average value $10 Million per aircraft) and leading edge avionic retrofits.

Currently president of Churchville Aeronautical, LLC, providing new product market development, roll our and marketing services, published trade publication contributing editor and, he is a partner in Kerr Avionics, LLC- an avionics R&D company offering emerging image processing software to “turbo-charge” existing EFVS systems to eliminate missed approaches and reduce carbon emissions in the aviation sector.

His aviation expertise includes Pratt and Whitney R-985, R-1340, with over 4000 hours of flight  (3000 hours of heavy and light tailwheel time) experience in the US and overseas as a commercial pilot holding airplane single and multi-engine land, instrument, glider and Certified Flight Instructor ratings. He is holds a Swiss Commercial endorsements with type rating on PT 6 turbine powered Pilatus Porter PC6B.
Flight experience includes Part 135 Air Charter / Sales demonstration (King Air B200), Part 137 Agricultural Aviation (THRUSH, Ag Cat, Turbo Porter PC6-B, Ag Truck, 450 Stearman & Piper Pawnee and Brave), primitive flight operations in North Africa,  avionic product development flight testing, powered and glider aerobatics, and skywriting (Rosie O’Gradey’s Flying Circus, Orlando, FL, 650 Modified B Model Ag Cat).

Lou is a contributing author in several Aerospace trade Publications, including PLANE & PILOT Magazine, Professional Pilot Magazine, and Aviation Week and Space Technology/Business and Commercial Aviation Magazine.

His Professional experience includes flight operations, direct sales and business development in the United States, Europe, Middle East, Africa, North Africa, South and Central America, Canada and China.

Lou is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where he majored in Political Theory with dual minor in Psychology and Spanish.

Lou grew up in a US Air Force family and graduated from Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone, Republic of Panama. He spent 12 of his first 17 years living overseas.

Lou soloed in December of 1966 in a J3 at the Air Force Aero Club, Albrook AFB, Panama CZ. He is a graduate of the Ayres Corporation Agricultural Pilot Training Program, Albany, GA.
