China's Blue Arrow 7

China North Industries Corp. is using this year’s Eurosatory defense show in Paris to promote its Blue Arrow 7 helicopter-launched air-to-ground missile.

The weapon also has applications for unmanned aircraft use, a company official says.

The semi-active laser weapon is designed for an effective range of 2 km to 7 km. It uses a tandem, high-explosive anti-tank warhead.

The weapon appears to differ from the AR-1, another Chinese helicopter/unmanned aircraft air-to-ground missile. Blue Arrow 7 has length of 1,775 mm and a 170 mm diameter. It weighs 47 kg.

The AR-1 was shown at the Zhuhai air show as being a 180 mm-diameter, 1.5 meter-long, semi-active laser guided weapon has a weight of around 45 kg. and range up to 8 km. It carries a shaped-charge armor-penetrating warhead.
