BizJet Rebound?

Bombardier is expecting a sharp rebound in business jet deliveries this decade, predicting 9,800 unit shipments through 2021.  Traditional operators -- those that aren't fractional or air taxi models -- will account for the overwhelming majority of those shipments, Bombardier says.

Not suprisingly, the large business jet segment is expected to to drive a near doubling in value of shipments, from $139 billion from 2002-2011 to $266 billion in the next 10 years. At the end of 2011, the large business jet segment accounted for nearly three-quarters of the estimated $44.6 billion in industry backlog.

Bombardier released its annual Business Aircraft Market Forecast yesterday as part of a pre-brief with reporters ahead of the Farnborough International Airshow July 9-15.
