Airbus A380 Is Your Hotel In The Sky (2001)

RSS

In a September 2001 advertisement, Airbus promised to bring glamour back to passenger travel with its new A380, which was under development, comparing the double-decker airliner to a hotel. “Feel free to relax with a drink at the bar, have a wander around or do a bit of duty-free shopping,” it said. “You will enjoy the most luxurious night’s sleep you’ve ever had in the sky."  The A380 entered service with Singapore Airlines in 2007.

Today, A380s flown by Emirates, Etihad and Qatar all feature bars in their premium sections, while Korean Air’s A380s are equipped with a duty-free shop.
