Controlled flight into terrain continues to be a leading cause of airline fatalities, according to Flight Safety Foundation. An update of an FSF-led international campaign to reduce CFIT accidents, citing Boeing statistics, tallies four CFIT accidents between November 1994 and November 1995, in which 178 people were killed.
